Yorkshire Water has announced it is commencing work to upgrade its clean water network as part of its £935,000 investment.
Its contract partner M Group is helping renew 2.8 kilometres of clean water pipes in Eastoft, Scunthorpe, starting next week.
The project is part of the water company’s plans to replace more than 1,000 kilometres of mains water across the region over the next five years.
Work will start on site on next Monday at Pademoor Terrace, Strickland Road and Donville Road, before moving onto Washinghall Lane under temporary traffic lights to keep everyone safe.
Alex Spivey, Project Manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “We’re starting this important mains renewal project in Eastoft because the area has been prone to bursts in the past.
“Once completed it will improve reliability of drinking water supply, reduce leakage and help prevent bursts occurring in the area.”
