HeatScape will map existing heat networks and give a detailed picture of how electrified networks will interact with the grid
UK Power Networks (UKPN) has launched a new project to map existing heat networks across the country and ignite the future of clean heat.

It has partnered with consultancy Arup, Environmental Resources Management and green heating and cooling specialist Bring Energy for the “HeatScape’ project.

The scheme will map where heat networks currently exist, predict where they’re likely to grow and estimate how much electricity they will need under different scenarios.

HeatScape will combine datasets, advanced modelling and real-world insights to give a detailed picture of how electrified heat networks will interact with the grid.
