Greenvolt Group has unveiled plans to invest €320 million (£279m) in its UK business over the next three years.
It aims to deliver 1GW of renewable energy capacity by 2028, with the investment to be allocated across its utility-scale and distributed generation businesses.
A total of €50 million (£43.6m) will be invested in distributed generation through Greenvolt Power, supporting 500MW of industrial and commercial clean energy capacity.
The rest of the €270 million (£236m) is earmarked for the company to support the development and expansion of solar and battery storage utility-scale assets.
The majority of the installations will be solar, supporting the government’s ambitions to triple PV capacity to between 45GW-47GW by 2030.
João Manso Neto, CEO of the Greenvolt Group said: “Our €320 million commitment to the UK over the next three years reflects both the opportunity we see in the market and Greenvolt’s determination to lead in clean energy solutions across distributed generation, utility-scale and sustainable biomass – where we operate a strategic cluster in the southern region near London with two plants.
“There is vast opportunity in the UK for the adoption of solar in particular, and we are pleased to support the UK’s ambitious goals.”
