Matched UK-Scottish funding will help thousands shift into clean energy roles by 2029

Thousands of North Sea workers will get tailored support to move into sustainable energy jobs with a £18 million funding package.

The Scottish Government will invest £9 million over three years, matched by £9 million from the UK Government.

Launched as a pilot in June, the fund has received £1.39 million to date and will support at least 300 workers in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire this financial year.

The expanded scheme will scale nationwide by 2029, with both governments working with unions and industry to attract additional private investment.
