The Carno III wind farm in Powys, Wales will become operational this autumn.
The 45MW project is expected to generate enough renewable energy to power 46,000 homes each year.
The development, which is being delivered by Jones Bros, is forecast to cut carbon emissions by approximately 65,000 tonnes annually.
It will also bring wider environmental and community benefits, including more than 350 hectares of habitat enhancement and peat restoration.
Rhys Roberts, Senior Contract Manager at Jones Bros, said: “We were the principal contractors on Carno II back in 2009 for Amegni, so this is something of a full circle moment for us as a company, and one we are proud to be involved in.
“It’s also our highest value wind farm contract in Wales to date, highlighting the importance placed on renewable energy.”
There are also plans to make improvements to local footpaths and create a community benefit package worth more than £3.5m over the wind farm’s lifetime.
Carno III will form part of a group of three wind farms in the area, bringing total capacity to almost 100MW across 78 turbines.
The development will also support the local electricity network through 20km of new underground cabling and grid reinforcement works.
